On Saturday evening May 17 th at 8:00 PM, the Boston Cecilia will conclude its innovative149th season with Tipping Point, a celebration of Asian and Asian-American choral music.

The centerpiece of the concert is Reena Esmail’s stunning The Tipping Point for chorus and tabla, featuring renowned tabla player Giri Subramaniam. This evening of music from across Asia and the Asian diaspora will also include the American premiere of movements from Japanese composer Hina Sakamoto’s Requiem, melodic arrangements of traditional Chinese and Turkish songs, a playful and rhythmic re-working of a Northern Philippines childrens’ chanting game - and much more!

Don’t miss this rich exploration of different musical traditions as Cecilia celebrates Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage month.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brookline Commission for the Arts, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
